Peep-Toes

In our city, high temperatures are unfortunately, too common in summer. That evening was no exception. Carla was trying to fing the perfect shoes to wear at a wedding. She had already bought the dress and finding a pair of peep-toes/sandals that matched seemed much easier than it actally was. After having visited all the shops we have in the city (which are more than a few) and having her feet with a thousand blisters, she found them.
This peep-toes were degined by Pedro del Hierro (a Spanish designer) and were bought at Cortefiel. The heel are quite high (around 12 cm) and they are not made of leather. Have a look at them!

Autumn

I took these photos some months ago, near my grandparents house. I love this
countryside: leaves, trees, sunlight and green green grass. The best chance to
wear light clothes and going for a walk with your camera!

Vintage

The past is always a source of inspiration. If you're ever bored at home, nothing better than flicking through old photo albums. You'll see all the clothes you'd die for, all the changes in the city that should have never happened, all the cute small cars nowadays replaced by modern spaceship-like ones...

A bit nostalgic, isn't it?

Vamos a la playa (Let's go to the beach)

More and more pictures of our holidays in Asturias.
The first one shows how the sunlight reflects on the sea in the way from the beach to the fishing port.
The second one shows the fishing port, a really nice area with typical fish & sea food restaurants.
In the third one you can see both of us laying down on the sand, trying to relax a bit in the morning.

Principado de Asturias

Who said that in Spain it never rains and the sun's continously shining? WRONG! (Fortunately)
Right now we're spending our summer holidays together in Asturias, in the north of Spain and the weather's not hot/sunny enough to go to the beach most of the time.
Tonight the hotel was really busy as there are some famous tennis players and their famous girlfriends staying in. That's why, trying to escape from such a mess of journalists and young fans, we went to a cosy café we came across in the village. The decoration is pretty good as well as the dim lights, but the atmosphere's completely broken when the waiter (a tacky version of David Beckham) appears and asks you what you would like to have in the most impolite way ever imagined.
However, the tea and the white coffee were the perfect choice for a rainy night.

Tribute to Cecilia Sörensen

Long ago, while flicking through a Spanish fashion magazine, an article caught my eye. There was an interview in it that helped the readers to get to know better a Finnish designer that sold her clothes in a shop in Barcelona. Her name is Cecilia Sörensen. She talked a bit about the differences between Spain and Finland. Then, I told my friend Carla about her. She also loved her personal, casual and smart style. After wondering if sending her an e-mail would be right or not we made up our mind and finally sent it. We thought "oh, she might not reply to us, Gaudí Catwalk designers don't seem to waste their time on stuff like that". To our surprise, we were wrong. She quickly replied to our e-mail in a friendly and thankful way. Since then, we keep getting e-mails from her that tell us the news about her shop, her new collections, exhibitions, etc.

Here is the link to her website http://www.ceciliasorensen.com/, where you can check where the shop is. It's a shame that the collections are not in the website. However, you can find some useful information.

¡Mucha suerte con las próximas colecciones y tus otros proyectos, Cecilia!

Summer house

This is a quite old picture I took near my summer house in a sunny day.
I had found this hand-made knitted cardigan some days ago and wanted so desperately to wear it. My mum knitted it about fifteen years ago (maybe even more). It was going to be a present for my godmother but somehow she doesn't have it. I do! As it's made of wool, it hurts my skin a bit but the pattern is so nice that the fabric is not important at all.
The denim shorts were cut by me from an old pair of long jeans. The underneath T-shirt is a very old one bought at Zara for about 3€.
Simple yet cosy.

Un rayo de sol... uo oh oh! (Sunlight)

The Sun always asks for something bright and colourful. So, when the sun shines, nothing better than a patterned top, denim shorts and comfortable flats.
The earrings are home-made (by Carla) from a children set of wooden pieces. They've been painted with red nail polish and some white details have been added after.

Denim shorts: Zara
Flats: Pull & Bear
Wayfarers: Ray-Ban
Earrings: Home-made
Bracelets: One bought in a souvenir shop at Port Aventura and the other, a present from Carla's aunt.

Home, sweet home

At Easter

Carla's wearing a knee-length skirt with small details (similar to dots), thick tights, a patterned pashmina, a plain knitted cardigan and Ana's lovely and stylish slippers (made of red velvet and with such a cute bow).

José Castro

José Castro is, without doubt, the most international Galician designer. He is a member of the Fédération Française de la Couture and, in order to create his collections, he takes an important inspiration from the cinema, especially from the horror films he watched with his father when he was a child. Have you seen his jeans in Sex and the City? Have a look and visit his website!

¡Bolsaco!

Two Spanish companies: SUTURNO and PESETA created this spacious and plain bag from old sacks. Now, they have launched a limited edition of this bag with Marc Jacobs, who sells them in his exclusive shops. Price? About 75€

Elie Saab - Autumn/Winter 2008-09

The Sistine Chapel was the inspiration for this Haute Couture collection in which Elie Saab shows his preference for red, grey and cerulean dresses. These are our favourite outfits.

Gold & Burgundy

We both agree that the burgundy background and the golden threads look great all together.
The outfit is completed by a vintage locket and a golden necklace.
It all looks a bit oriental, doesn't it?

Top: Zara
Locket: Vintage (Carla's mother)
Golden necklace: A present from a friend

Let's be simple-minded for a day!

Some days being in a bad mood reflects in your outfit more than you would like to.
That day, choosing a plain navy blue polo shirt and a small felt detail was a wise move.
Simple and comfy.

Mocker

Happy Birthday!

She's not a mod, either a rocker... she's a mocker! The idea of being unfaithful to the Beatles or the UK has never gone through her mind. She oozes personality, from flag underwear to polka-dot pockets, pilot sunglasses, Twiggy-like haircut or dimples... So genuine!
